"...apparently they need to forge it in a magical volcano in Unicorn Land" That made my morning. Love it. Would that be anything like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQJD1ura7G4 So happy to hear of your happiness. :)
I'm not sure why else it would take them eight weeks to make (locally) a ring they've made before!
How are you, dear? Am I ever going to see you again? I totally owe you lunch.

*laughs* Brill, indeed!
I would love to have lunch with you. :) The holidays sound hectic for us both, perhaps we can plan for January?
And I totally support you posting pics of this magical ring. *nods firmly* We need to see it.
Man I'm terrible at cards!
I'm totally excited for you and I feel like such a dweeb! :)

Nope but Charles hasn't checked the mail lately either :) It's probably outside right now.
what are your plans for the wedding? (I'm full of insatiable curiosity you know)
We gon' elope when the spirit takes us, baby, and then throw a very large party. =)
We'll be getting a place in October, so it'll probably be December-ish.
Is that what you two did? We can't decide between Vegas and the courthouse.
Court house, less than a hundred bucks, cute little ceramony :) and then we went home and told our parents... Neither of us have ever been big fans of Vegas. Vegas would make for a convenint honey moon if you've got the bit of extra money and you like it there.
We both hate Vegas, generally speaking, but we were thinking that's the only way we could get out of having our mothers in tow. :P
Nah, just drag a trusted friend to witness and tell the moms after. Maybe have dinner after the fact with your moms... nice and public in case they want to yell.
I got your card on the 20th! Thank you! :) Actually, it was one of my happy-making things for Day 3 of that silly meme. ^^ Don't feel bad, though...I still haven't gotten mine mailed yet! It will be done tomorrow, though. In my defense, they are individually handmade, and I like to send them all in one go. ^^; I don't have any of my gifts wrapped yet, and mum managed to get hers early somehow. I'm getting an F in Xmas this year. :P
It'll take eight weeks for Nathan Alan to make it (apparently they need to forge it in a magical volcano in Unicorn Land), but it's worth it. XD!! Best thing ever!! But yeah....as long as they aren't forging it in Mt. Doom, it's all good. My ring was a hand-me-down (or heirloom, if you want to be fancy) from my grandmother. It was never my taste, but it was a perfect fit and means a lot to me because of its history. I stopped wearing it after I got my knuckle tattoos, though. ^^ Don't forget to post pics when the unicorns have finished chanting over it! :D
ETA: P.S. Whatever are AA socks? American Apparel socks...? Didn't know they made socks! ^^
Edited at 2008-12-22 07:51 pm (UTC)
They make socks. :P I've got about 12 pairs in different colors and lengths. There's something so very... seventies porn about them. They look cute on my fella, too!
Your card went into a mail slot in Westminster, CA at midnight on Thursday. Or was it Wednesday? Either way, amazing!
P.S. Wouldn't posting pics of the ring be the equivalent of shoving it in peoples' faces? :PEdited at 2008-12-22 08:04 pm (UTC)
Nope, pics are definitely allowed!
Oooh. LOVE those kind of socks! I have some that are grey with black rings and just longer than knee-high. I think mine are from Rue 21 though. ^^
Wouldn't posting pics of the ring be the equivalent of shoving it in peoples' faces? Maybe, but not in my opinion. But either way...you could just show it to me. ^^ I'm dying to see it! Besides, I think it's probably some kind of tradition to show a ring to your older, married friends. :D
Aren't I older? 1977 vintage.
'Fraid not, dear...I've got you beat by nearly a year (03 Nov '76). :)
Ah! Much more valuable. :) I hear that was a good year.
Yes...the dreaded "Bicentennial". Hoo, boy. u_u
I totally failed at the Christmas Cards myself this year too (well... like every year). I always have the best intentions, but then I never seem to get the motivation to do them.
And congrats on the engagement. I'm with the others who say show us the ring (and screw anyone who thinks it's "rubbing it in peoples faces").
Did you just tell me to screw myself? :P
I guess I did, huh? LOL! I meant anyone ELSE who thinks it is rubbing it peoples faces! :P :P :P

You inspired me to get cards out this year. Actually, Laura did it. I just contributed names. I was going to do it but early on she realized that I was going to procrastinate. I forgot to give you my address when we were over and I apologize for that. We did get your card out (though very late).
I really can sympathize with you on the party. When I invite to the right number, everyone is wishy washy. When I over invite in an effort to get the right amount of people, everyone comes. And on that line of thinking, we're planning a dinner party for next month. You and your boyfriend are the only definite invites at this point. I'll email you about it in the next week or so.
But I really, really want to see the ring :)
I seem to have gotten the most lovey card delivered with a most creepy stamp!
I sent you something about a week or two ago.
Have you received it? |
